Dr. Scott Anderson Animal Surgical and Emergency Center (ASEC) Who is ASEC? Animal Surgical and Emergency Center (ASEC) is the largest surgical group in Southern California, in business for nearly 30 years. ASEC has five state-of-the-art surgical suites, fully equipped with the latest technology and is open 24 hours a day, ready to handle any and all types of emergencies: not only for dogs and cats, but also for avian, exotic species, rabbits, and small mammals (“pocket pets”). ASEC’s I.C.U. provides the maximum level of care and technology for critically ill pets. At any time, day or night, referring veterinary hospitals may transfer pets to our I.C.U. for overnight or around-the-clock doctor and nurse care, to be transferred back to the referring veterinarian once the patient is stable. What factors made you decide to go digital? We wanted to practice better care for our patients and we knew that going digital would increase our efficiency, speed to take and review and image and storage capabilities. The clarity and definition of a DR image surpasses the conventional film x-ray 20 times over. We can diagnose problems with a DR image that we could not with film, ultimately providing optimum care to our patients. When did you buy your Eklin units? We purchased our Eklin units in 2004. The EDR6 is amazing, providing our surgeons with a rapid radiography system. We also purchased the RapidView and PACS system. What are the results? We have happier customers. They know that with DR technology, we are providing an optimal diagnosis for their animal. To date, we have shot over 30,000 radiographs and we are pleased with the continued customer care we receive from Eklin. We also saw a financial difference immediately including a cost savings on film, darkroom time and personnel. |
