Small Animal

Whether you have a small, medium, large or mobile practice, Eklin can provide a digital radiography solution that will fit your needs. Now you will be able to provide the industry-leading imaging technology to your clients and patients. And, as many of our veterinary care partners can tell you, increase imaging revenues as well while raising staff efficiencies.

“From our experience, we have seen a 27 percent increase in radiography revenues, yet only raised our prices by six percent, and that is just within the first month. I have never owned a piece of capital equipment that provided such an immediate and substantial return on investment. Most importantly, the incredible radiographs we get from the RapidStudy provide us with far greater diagnostic confidence, and the workflow improvements have been amazing.”

In a survey of our customers, we have found that the average charge per radiogram is about $100, based on three images per exam. Additionally, most practices will experience a 15-30 percent increase in radiographic revenues once the Eklin system is installed. Many practices also report substantial revenue increases in other imaging modalities, such as ultrasound, due to findings from the RapidStudy system’s driving orthogonal discovery for verification.

Recommended Eklin Configurations

  • Small: Usually consisting of 1-3 veterinarians, this size of practice generates approximately 40 radiographic cases per month.

Capture: The recommended solution would be a RapidStudy™ EDR6 Large Format Digital Radiographic system installed in your current x-ray table. A simple interface box links the DR to your standard footswitch, and a simple touch-screen operators console quickly guides your technicians through image acquisition.

View: A RapidView™ 3GS or RapidView 2GSi provides high-resolution, high-definition viewing anywhere on your clinic network. When cost is a significant issue, a RapidView™ 2C workstation with color monitor can be substituted with some reduction in display performance.

Store: An Eklin RapidStore™ SF-1 provides RAID-1 level file storage for more than 25,000 images, typically 8,000 or more studies. The SF-1 can be located anywhere on your network and supports advanced routing rules, remote diagnostics (internet connection required) and also provides a link to EklinVault, for secure remote storage and retrieval of your important medical records.

  • Medium: With 4-6 veterinary professionals, this level clinic will produce from 75 to 200 radiographic cases per month

Capture: The recommended solution would be a RapidStudy™ EDR6 Large Format Digital Radiographic system installed in your current x-ray table. A simple interface box links the DR to your standard footswitch, and a simple touch-screen operators console quickly guides your technicians through image acquisition.

View: A combination of RapidView™ 3GS or RapidView 2GSi workstations, deployed with the surgical staff and staff radiologist will provide high-resolution, high-definition viewing anywhere on your hospital network. For clinics with additional modalities that require color presentation, a 2 mega-pixel color monitor can be added to the 3GS.

To support the clinical staff, or where routine viewing of images is required, a number of strategically placed Eklin RapidView™ 2C color workstations will usually match the workflow. The RapidView™ SD-1C can be included in the exam rooms to provide instant radiographic discussion with your clients for educational purposes.

For higher case loads, an upgrade to the more capable RapidStore™ SA provides larger RAID 5+1 secure storage capacities (50,000 to 100,000 images respectively) as well as adding Internet Explorer-based viewing using the built-in image web server.

  • Large: This is usually a practice of more than 10 veterinarians. Patient volumes can run from 150 to 1500 cases per month.

Capture: The recommended solution would be a RapidStudy™ EDR6 Large Format Digital Radiographic system installed in your current x-ray table. A simple interface box links the DR to your standard footswitch, and a simple touch-screen operators console quickly guides your technicians through image acquisition. Depending on case volume, a second EDR6 may also be recommended to support high-throughput patient peaks. This can also alleviate the delay in getting films when procedures such as myelograms are being conducted on the primary table.

View: A combination of multiple RapidView™ 3GS or RapidView 2GSi workstations, deployed with the surgical staff and staff radiologist will provide high-resolution, high-definition viewing anywhere on your hospital network. For clinics with additional modalities that require color presentation, a 2 mega-pixel color monitor can be added to the 3GS.

To support the clinical and general staff, or where routine viewing of images is required, a number of strategically placed Eklin RapidView™ 2C color workstations will support an improved digital workflow. The RapidView™ SD-1C can be included in the exam rooms to provide instant radiographic discussion with your clients for educational purposes.

Store: An Eklin RapidStore™ SA provides RAID-5+1 level file storage for 100,000 to 200,000 images. The RapidStore can be located anywhere on your network and supports advanced routing rules, remote diagnostics (internet connection required) and also provides a link to EklinVault, for secure remote storage and retrieval of your important medical records. The SA supports Internet Explorer-based viewing using the built-in image web server.
