First Eklin EDR6 Customer Completes The 110th Boston Marathon

Jim Young, DVM, always enjoyed running and did so often throughout his years at the University of California Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. Now, at age 45, Jim is one of the elite athletes to not only qualify for the world’s most prestigious marathon event – the Boston Marathon – but to actually complete it!

As Eklin’s first RapidStudy EDR6 DR system customer (see related story), Jim is well known for his commitment to excellence in all he does – especially at his state-of-the-art emergency care practice, the Atlantic Street Veterinary Hospital. Jim carries this same commitment into his running regimen, logging up to 70 miles per week as he trains for the big event. To qualify for the Boston Marathon, Jim posted a personal best 3:30:06 in completing the Sacramento International Marathon 26.6 mile race. His best finishing results was a fifth in age group at the 2005 Humboldt Redwood Classic.

Because of this outstanding qualifying time, Jim started at the front of the second wave with +10,000 other runners behind him. In the end, with more than 20,000 men and women running in The 110th Boston Marathon, Jim completed the race in 3:45:15. Pretty amazing for his first Boston Marathon!

If you want to send Jim a congratulatory note, you can email him at jyoung@erpetdoctor.com.

CONGRATULATIONS JIM!
