EKLIN INTRODUCES EDR3 MARK II RAPIDSTUDY DR SYSTEM TO THE EKLIN DIGITAL PRACTICE PLATFORM Leading Provider of Digital Radiology and Management Solutions
“We worked with several leading equine veterinarians in developing a rugged, small footprint system, yet, with the same unsurpassed imaging and image management capabilities which have come to be expected from Eklin,” said Gary R. Cantu, president and CEO of Eklin. “Feedback from our clinicians has been outstanding. Coupled with our new practice management offerings from Eklin’s Elinc VIA software division, and our recently announced partnership with Cedara Software, the Eklin Digital Practice® platform will provide unprecedented digital solutions to the veterinary care professional. In addition, with our rapidly increasing worldwide volumes, we have been able to offer lower prices on our new models, and significantly lower the price of our current generation EDR3 as well”. With the smallest footprint in the industry, the Mark II DR unit offers a field-proven system based on hundreds of Eklin installations and millions of images from actual practice experience from large universities to small individual practices. The rugged laptop of the Mark II, which is based on leading military field technology, is both water and impact resistant. The light weight sensor panel now has a field-replaceable cable and the new system is airline-overhead compliant as well. Based on DICOM 3.0 standards, the Mark II system will fully integrate PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) functionality and a mobile version of it’s eFilm diagnostic viewer. Also available is a complete practice information management system (PIMS) which has been specifically designed for clinic-based and ambulatory large animal practices. “The new Mark II system offers the most comprehensive portable DR package with incredible imaging performance,” said Russ Peterson, DVM from Penninsula Equine. “The fact we will be able to utilize a complete practice information and image management system in the field and have the maneuverability provided by wireless connection to the laptop, really brings new meaning to the Eklin Digital Practice.” A hallmark of Eklin’s product development strategy is to offer an economical upgrade path for its user base. The current EDR3 RapidStudy units can be updated to the new Mark II system. The EDR3 RapidStudy unit, however, will still be available and completely supported by Eklin’s comprehensive service programs.
